Dear Partners and Friends of the Inland Mendocino Cooperative Weed
Management Area

It is that time again – our WMA Annual Report is due at the end of
January, and I need to report the efforts that went into weed management
projects within our region (the Russian, Eel and Mattole watersheds within
Mendocino County).

Or just send me your information in a spreadsheet or email.

The only restrictions are:
1.The effort must have a goal of weed control (suppression, containment,
eradication, ...). For example, mowing weeds to reduce fire hazard does
not by itself count as weed control, unless it is expected that mowing
will lead to less weeds in the future.
2.Efforts must be “cooperative”. This is defined very broadly – if there
is more than one weed management project in the same watershed, they are
considered cooperative, even if the weed species is different. The
projects may never have communicated with each other. So go ahead and
report whatever you have done and I will match things up and see what is
cooperative.

This information is important not only for our Annual Report, but also for
our proposals for Supplemental Funding, which require a minimum of 50-50
match. So while you are preparing your 2009 summary, please think ahead
and make an estimate of your efforts in 2010 and 2011.

I must receive your match documentation by Jan 29 (at the VERY LATEST) for
it to be included in our 2009 Annual Report.
