The California Invasive Plant Council has asked for contact information
for the Weed Management Area partners so they can request letters of
support for the renewal of AB 2479, the California State legislation
that provides a minimal level of funding for WMAs.
This funding is critical to the continuation of our WMAs as it provides
a base level of support targeted to on-the-ground weed removal projects.
The Mendocino County WMAs are currently receiving funding for the
management of woolly distaff thistle, red sesbania, giant knotweed and
gorse.
Ideally, the funding level would be increased from the current $1.5
million/yr to $2.5 million/yr as originally proposed. However, at a time
when the economy is diving and the state budget is getting slashed,
there is no guarantee that the $1.5 million will get allocated.
Before I send off everybody's phone and address, I wanted to make sure
that you were OK with this- please let me know by Feb 22. Replying to
this e-mail directly will send a message to the Partners mailing list.
If you would prefer your response to be private, please send it to
coord at imcwma.org
Thanks, Tara

My e-mail delivery has been unreliable lately, so I am asking for
return receipts from all my email messages.
OK'ing the return receipt lets me know that my message was delivered.
Thank you.
